The SharkBite SBCU518LFA is a 3/4 inch push-to-connect brass end push cap.

A push-to-connect cap does one job and it is worth understanding why the job matters: it terminates a line, permanently or temporarily, without heat.

That is the whole proposition of push-fit. Capping a copper line conventionally means draining it completely, drying it, and soldering — and a line that will not dry is a line that will not solder, because water in the pipe carries heat away and the joint never reaches temperature.
