Santa Fe Dehumidifier Accessory Supply & Return Duct Kit

The Santa Fe 4042265 is a supply and return duct kit for Santa Fe dehumidifiers, supplying the collars, connections, and fittings required to duct a unit into a conditioned space or an existing air distribution system.

Ducting a dehumidifier substantially changes what it can do. A free standing unit dehumidifies the air immediately around it, which is adequate for a single open space. Ducting the supply and return allows the unit to draw from and discharge to specific locations, so a dehumidifier installed in a mechanical room or crawl space can treat a distant or partitioned area, or be integrated with the air handler to distribute dry air throughout a home.

Ducted arrangements also permit the equipment to be located where noise and heat rejection are unobjectionable, rather than where the moisture problem exists.

Correct duct sizing and routing matter. Dehumidifier blowers are modest compared with air handler blowers, and excessive duct length, undersized duct, or too many fittings will reduce airflow below the design value and cut moisture removal capacity accordingly. Keep runs short and direct, use smooth duct where practical, and insulate ducts passing through unconditioned space to avoid condensation on the exterior.

Applications include crawl space, basement, and whole house dehumidifier installations in residential and light commercial buildings. Confirm compatibility with the specific dehumidifier model and verify airflow after installation.
