The Master Lock MLSM115KALF is a Magnum 1-9/16 inch steel keyed alike covered padlock.
The covered designation is the specification and it addresses the way padlocks actually fail outdoors: not by being attacked, but by seizing.
A padlock left on a gate through a winter takes rain, dust, and grit into the keyway and the shackle holes. Water freezes, dirt packs the cylinder, and the mechanism corrodes. Eventually the key will not turn, or turns and does nothing, and the lock has to be cut off a gate that nobody was trying to break into. Anyone who maintains outdoor property has done this.
A covered lock has a boot or shroud over the body and keyway that keeps the weather out. It is a small feature that decides whether the lock is still working in three years.
The cover also shields the shackle, which incidentally makes it harder to get bolt cutters onto — a secondary benefit.
Keyed alike means all locks in the batch open with one key, which suits a site or a fleet where one person opens many. The cost is that one compromised key opens everything. Note that no key number is stated, so these will match each other rather than an existing set.
