Kotap ADPTRA1216 Alliance Economy Utility Tarp 12x16 Blue 4.5 mil 8x8

The Kotap ADPTRA1216 is an Alliance Economy Utility Tarp in a 12' x 16' size, finished in blue, constructed as a poly tarpaulin in the homeowner's utility class.

The specification is an 8x8 weave at 4.5 mil gauge. This is the entry-level poly tarp construction: the 8x8 thread count and 4.5 mil coating thickness make a tarp that is light enough to handle and spread single-handed, folds down small for storage, and costs little enough to be used for a job rather than curated for a decade.

Polyethylene is inherently waterproof and, unlike canvas, will not rot or mildew if it goes back in the truck damp. That property is what makes poly tarps the default for unplanned, short-notice covering work.

The 12' x 16' footprint is a practical general-purpose size — near-square, and large enough to cover a material stack, a piece of equipment, a load bed, a garden or patio set, or to serve as a painting drop cloth across a room.

Users include homeowners, painters, landscapers, general contractors, movers, farm and yard operations, and event setups.

Read the grade honestly when specifying: economy poly is the correct choice for temporary and intermittent use. Where a cover will stay out through sustained sun and wind, the super duty tarps in the Alliance range use a heavier 14x14 weave and 10 mil gauge and are the better long-term buy.
