Honeywell Miller SPAP950QC/S/MGN Sperian Miller DuraFlex Python Harness

The Honeywell Miller SPAP950QC/S/MGN is a DuraFlex Python harness with quick-connect buckle chest and leg straps, stretchable webbing and a comfort D-ring pad, small-medium.

A full body harness is the last thing between a worker and the ground, and two things about it deserve stating.

The first is that a harness that has arrested a fall is finished. It is removed from service permanently and destroyed — not inspected and returned, destroyed. The webbing and the stitching absorb the energy of the arrest by deforming, and that deformation is not always visible. A harness that has taken one fall cannot be trusted with a second.

The second is suspension trauma, and it is the part nobody plans for. A person hanging in a harness after a fall is in serious danger even though the fall was arrested. The leg straps compress the veins in the thighs, blood pools in the legs, and the brain is starved — orthostatic intolerance can become life-threatening within minutes, in a conscious person who is talking. Every site working at height needs a rescue plan that gets someone down fast, not a call to emergency services and a wait.

The stretchable webbing and D-ring pad address comfort, which matters: a harness that hurts gets worn loose, and a loose harness injures during arrest.

Inspect before every use.
