The DiversiTech PRCFD4510A is a round dual run capacitor rated 45 plus 10 microfarad at 440 volts for compressor and condenser fan motor applications.

A 10 microfarad fan section indicates a comparatively large condenser fan motor, typically a quarter or third horsepower unit found on four and five ton condensing units and on light commercial equipment. Smaller residential units generally use 5 or 7.5 microfarad fan sections corresponding to smaller fan motors.

The fan section value is set by the condenser fan motor, not by the compressor or the unit tonnage, and the motor nameplate is the authority. This matters most on equipment where the original fan motor has been replaced with a universal substitute at some point in its life: the replacement motor may specify a different capacitance than the original, and if the dual capacitor was left unchanged the fan motor has been operating on the wrong value ever since.
