DiversiTech Inline Treatment Delivery BG-400

The DiversiTech BG-400 is an inline treatment delivery device fitted to condensate drain lines to dispense biocide treatment continuously.

Condensate drain blockage is among the most frequent causes of service calls on cooling equipment, and the blockage is rarely mineral scale or debris. It is biological growth.

An evaporator coil is dark, wet, and at a temperature that suits microbial growth well. Water drains from it continuously during operation, carrying organic material into the drain pan and the drain line, and a biofilm establishes itself in the line. That biofilm thickens, sheds, and eventually forms a plug that stops drainage entirely.

Water then backs up in the pan and overflows. Where the air handler sits in an attic or above a finished ceiling, that overflow causes water damage well out of proportion to the cost of preventing it.

An inline delivery device releases treatment into the condensate stream continuously rather than relying on a technician placing tablets in the pan at each visit. Continuous dosing suppresses growth before it establishes rather than clearing it after it has formed.

Treatment does not substitute for correct installation. The line must be sized and sloped adequately, a properly formed trap is required where the drain connects to a negative pressure section, and a cleanout allows the line to be cleared.

Confirm compatibility with the drain line size and the treatment product, and verify the overflow safety switch functions.
