DiversiTech Capacitor 80 MFD 440/370V Round TRCF80

The DiversiTech TRCF80 is an 80 microfarad round run capacitor rated 440 and 370 volts for large single-phase compressor duty in HVAC and refrigeration equipment.

Single capacitors of this value serve two purposes. They replace a failed single run capacitor in equipment that uses separate compressor and fan capacitors, an arrangement common in light commercial units and in older residential equipment. They also substitute, in combination with a second single capacitor of the appropriate fan value, for a dual capacitor that is unavailable or will not fit the compartment.

The substitution is straightforward. The large capacitor is wired between the compressor start winding and the common supply point, the smaller one between the fan motor and the same common point, reproducing exactly what the dual capacitor's HERM, FAN, and C terminals provided. Both must be securely mounted and both must equal or exceed the original voltage rating.

Carrying a spread of single values is therefore a more flexible stocking strategy than attempting to hold every dual combination.

Eighty microfarad is the upper end of single-phase compressor run duty.
