DiversiTech Capacitor 60/10 MFD 440/37 TRCFD6010

The DiversiTech TRCFD6010 is a round dual run capacitor rated 60 plus 10 microfarad at 440 and 370 volts for compressor and condenser fan motor service in larger air conditioning equipment.

Light commercial packaged rooftop units frequently contain several capacitors rather than one. A unit with two compressors, or with separate supply fan and condenser fan motors, may carry a dual capacitor for each refrigeration circuit plus additional singles for the indoor blower. Each has its own specification, and they are not interchangeable simply because they sit in the same compartment.

When servicing equipment of this type, label the capacitors as they are removed. Reinstalling a fan capacitor in a compressor position, or swapping the capacitors between two circuits of different capacity, produces faults that are difficult to trace because the unit will run, imperfectly, on the wrong values.

The unit wiring diagram, usually inside the electrical compartment cover, identifies which capacitor serves which motor.

The 60 microfarad section serves the compressor through HERM and the 10 microfarad section serves the condenser fan motor through FAN.

Confirm both capacitance values, case dimensions, and terminal arrangement before ordering, and discharge both sections before handling.
