DiversiTech Capacitor 45/7.5 MFD 440/3 TRCFD4575

The DiversiTech TRCFD4575 is a round dual run capacitor rated 45 plus 7.5 microfarad at 440 and 370 volts for combined compressor and condenser fan motor duty.

Terminal identification is marked on the top of the case. HERM designates the hermetic compressor section and carries the larger capacitance value, FAN designates the condenser fan motor section and carries the smaller value, and C designates the common terminal shared by both. The markings are moulded or printed on the terminal plate and remain legible on a clean capacitor.

On a weathered capacitor in an outdoor unit those markings can become difficult to read, which is one reason to record the wiring before disconnecting anything. A photograph taken before removal is faster and more reliable than attempting to recall the arrangement afterwards, and it removes any doubt about which lead went where.

If the markings on the failed capacitor are unreadable and the wiring was not recorded, the connections can be reconstructed from the compressor and fan motor leads themselves, but this requires care and should be verified before energising.

The 45 microfarad section serves the compressor and the 7.5 microfarad section the condenser fan motor.

Confirm both values and case dimensions before ordering, and discharge both sections before handling.
