DiversiTech Capacitor 40/7.5 MFD 440/3 TRCFD4075

The DiversiTech TRCFD4075 is a round dual run capacitor rated 40 plus 7.5 microfarad at 440 and 370 volts for compressor and condenser fan motor applications.

Run capacitors carry a rated life expressed in hours of operation at their maximum rated temperature. That number is often misread as a guaranteed service life, when it is more usefully understood as a comparative figure: it describes performance under the worst conditions the capacitor is designed to tolerate, and actual life in a cooler installation will be considerably longer.

Converting the rating into calendar years requires knowing the run hours. A residential cooling-only condensing unit in a temperate climate might accumulate a few hundred compressor hours per season, while the same unit in a hot climate running long cycles could accumulate several times that. A heat pump running year-round accumulates more still.

This is why manufacturers cannot state a replacement interval and why measurement at seasonal service is the only reliable approach.

The 40 microfarad section connects to HERM for the compressor and the 7.5 microfarad section to FAN for the condenser fan motor, with C shared between them.

Confirm both values, case dimensions, and terminal layout before ordering, and discharge both sections before handling.
