DualMelt means the gun runs at two temperatures, and that is a genuine capability rather than a convenience setting.
High temperature glue is stronger. It flows freely, it wets a surface properly, and it grips wood, metal, ceramic, and anything with mass. It is also hot enough to melt polystyrene foam on contact, deform thin plastics, and burn skin badly — hot melt sticks to a finger while it burns, which is why glue gun burns are worse than the temperature suggests.
Low temperature glue melts at a fraction of that. It is weaker and it sets faster, and it is the only option for foam, delicate fabrics, thin plastics, and anything a person is holding. Craft work, packaging, and temporary fixtures live there.
A single-temperature gun forces a choice at purchase. A dual gun does not — but the glue sticks are formulated for a temperature, so the gun and the stick have to match. A high-temp stick in a low-temp gun does not melt properly; a low-temp stick in a hot gun runs like water.
