Pro1 IAQ Thermostat 1H/1C Non-Programmable 24V PRO1

The Pro1 IAQ T701 is a non-programmable thermostat for single stage heating and cooling, operating on 24 volt control.

Single stage heat and cool covers the majority of residential systems in service: a conventional furnace or air handler with one heating output, and single stage cooling.

Thermostat selection begins with establishing what the equipment actually requires, and the reliable way to do so is to examine the existing wiring and the equipment's wiring diagram rather than the outgoing thermostat, which may itself have been an incorrect choice.

The conductors present tell most of the story. Terminals for heating and cooling, a fan output, a transformer supply, and where present a common, indicate a conventional system. Terminals for a reversing valve indicate a heat pump. Additional heating terminals indicate staging or auxiliary heat.

A frequent error is fitting a conventional thermostat to a heat pump, which produces a system that heats when it should cool or fails to change over at all, and the symptom is sometimes misattributed to the equipment.

Confirm system type, staging, control voltage, and common conductor availability before selection.
