Pro1 IAQ Programmable Thermostat T855ISH

The Pro1 IAQ T855ISH is a programmable thermostat for residential and light commercial heating and cooling systems.

Commissioning a thermostat properly means more than fitting it and confirming the equipment runs.

The installer configuration should be set to match the equipment: system type, staging, heat pump reversing valve orientation where applicable, fan control on gas or electric heat, and cycle rate.

Fan control deserves particular mention. On a gas furnace the equipment controls the blower itself, and the thermostat should be configured accordingly; on an electric air handler the thermostat controls the fan directly. Configuring this wrongly produces either a blower that runs continuously during heating or one that does not run at all, and the latter causes the limit to cycle.

Each mode should then be verified: a call for heat should produce heat, a call for cooling should produce cooling, and on a heat pump the changeover should be confirmed in both directions.

Finally the schedule should be set with the occupant and the override function explained, since an occupant who cannot override a schedule will simply defeat it.
