The Metal Zinc COPBX128 is a 12 by 8 inch sheet metal duct box, providing the transition between duct and a register or grille opening.

A duct box, commonly called a boot, is the fitting that terminates a branch run at the wall, floor, or ceiling opening where the register mounts. It converts the round or rectangular duct section to the rectangular register dimension and provides a flange or attachment surface for the register.

Boots are installed early in construction, buried in framing or floor structure, and frequently sealed inadequately or not at all.
