Metal Zinc 10X10 Duct Access Door AD0030-DB

The Metal Zinc AD0030-DB is a 10 by 10 inch duct access door, installed in ductwork or plenum walls to provide service access to internal components.

Access doors are what make ducted systems maintainable. Fire and smoke dampers require periodic inspection and testing under most codes, and that testing is impossible without access at the damper location. Coils, humidifier elements, UV lamps, airflow sensors, and duct mounted heaters all need to be reached. Duct cleaning requires entry points. Where no access door exists, the alternative is cutting the duct and patching it, which is slower, produces a leaky repair, and is progressively less satisfactory each time it is repeated.

Placement determines whether the door is useful. It should be located to give a direct line of access to the component being served, on a face that is reachable once the system is installed, and clear of hangers, adjacent duct, and structure.
