Mars Thermostat Guard Large Clear 553 M70220

The Mars M70220 is a large clear thermostat guard for protecting wall mounted thermostats and controls.

The clear construction serves a specific purpose: the thermostat's display and settings remain readable through the guard, so occupants and staff can see the setpoint and the current temperature without the guard being opened.

This matters in practice. A guard that conceals the thermostat entirely generates a different set of complaints from the ones it was fitted to prevent, since occupants cannot see what the space is set to and have no information at all about why they are uncomfortable. Being able to read the setting, while being unable to change it, addresses the adjustment problem without creating an information vacuum.

The large size accommodates the physically larger thermostats now common: programmable units, communicating controllers, and touchscreen devices, all of which exceed the dimensions of the mechanical thermostats these guards were originally designed around.

Confirming the thermostat's dimensions against the guard's internal clearance before ordering is the necessary check, including any depth taken up by the thermostat's subbase or mounting plate.

Ventilation must permit air exchange so temperature sensing remains accurate.

Applications include commercial buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, hospitality, and public spaces.
