Mars Fuse Cartridge 20A 600V Ktk M82920

The Mars M82920 is a 20 amp, 600 volt cartridge fuse in the KTK series, a fast-acting midget fuse used for branch circuit and control protection where rapid clearing is required.

KTK designates a fast-acting, non-time-delay midget fuse in a 13/32 by 1-1/2 inch body with a 600 volt rating. Unlike dual element time delay fuses, the KTK opens quickly on overcurrent without an intentional delay period. This makes it the correct choice for circuits without significant inrush, and specifically for protecting components that cannot tolerate even brief overcurrent.

Typical applications are electronic control circuits, instrumentation, semiconductor and solid state device protection, lighting circuits, resistive loads, and general branch protection where fast clearing limits damage. KTK fuses also carry high interrupting ratings, making them suitable for use in industrial control panels where available fault current is significant.

Fast-acting fuses should not be substituted into motor, transformer, or solenoid circuits designed for time delay. The inrush drawn when those loads energize will open a fast-acting fuse repeatedly, and technicians often misdiagnose this as a circuit fault before recognizing the fuse type was wrong.
