Mars Fuse Cartridge 15A 600V 11 1 M82919

The Mars M82919 is a 15 amp, 600 volt midget cartridge fuse supplied for control circuit and small load protection in HVAC, refrigeration, and industrial control panels.

Midget fuses occupy a 13/32 by 1-1/2 inch body, a compact format that fits the dense fuse blocks used inside modern control enclosures. The small size does not limit voltage application; the 600 volt rating covers standard industrial control and power system voltages including 480 volt three phase distribution.

At 15 amps, typical loads include control transformer primaries and secondaries, contactor and relay coil circuits, solenoid and gas valve circuits, instrumentation and electronic control supply, and accessory equipment fed from within the panel.

Control circuit fusing serves two purposes. It protects the control transformer from destruction when a short develops in the field wiring or a connected component, converting an expensive transformer replacement into a fuse change. It also provides immediate diagnostic direction: an open fuse tells the technician the fault lies downstream in the control circuit rather than in the transformer or supply.

Whether the original was fast-acting or time delay matters. Circuits feeding transformers, coils, and solenoids normally require time delay to survive energization inrush, while resistive and electronic loads may specify fast-acting for tighter protection. Substituting the wrong characteristic causes either nuisance opening or inadequate protection.

Verify series, class, voltage rating, amperage, and body dimensions against the original and the holder. De-energize and lock out before servicing.
