Mars 25A 600 Fuse TRS25 M82137

The Mars M82137 is a 25 amp, 600 volt time delay fuse in the TRS series, designated TRS25, used for motor branch circuit and transformer protection in commercial and industrial systems.

The TRS designation identifies a dual element, time delay, Class RK5 fuse. Dual element construction places a fast-acting short circuit element in series with a thermal overload element, so the fuse tolerates the brief high current of a motor start or transformer energization while still clearing genuine short circuits quickly and sustained overloads reliably.

The 600 volt rating permits use throughout commercial and industrial distribution, including 480 volt three phase systems. At 25 amps, typical loads are smaller three phase motors, control transformer primaries, fan and pump circuits, and equipment subfeeds.

Class RK5 fuses are dimensionally interchangeable with Class H and other Class R fuses of the same amperage, but they are not performance-equivalent. RK5 devices provide current limitation and higher interrupting ratings than Class H. Rejection-style fuse holders are designed to accept Class R fuses while excluding lower-rated types, which prevents an unsafe downgrade during maintenance.

Applications include fused safety switches at mechanical equipment, motor control centres, panelboard protection, and general commercial distribution.

Before replacing, confirm the class, voltage rating, amperage, and time delay characteristic match the original, and verify the holder accepts the class. De-energize and lock out the circuit, confirm absence of voltage with an appropriately rated meter, and check fuse clips for heat damage and spring tension.
