The LG F42215P-ADL7318090 is a replacement evaporator coil assembly supplied as a service part for compatible LG air conditioning and heat pump equipment.

The evaporator coil is where refrigerant absorbs heat from the airstream. Liquid refrigerant metered into the coil boils at low pressure and temperature, cooling the air passing across the fins and dehumidifying it as moisture condenses on the surface. Coil condition therefore governs both capacity and comfort: a fouled, damaged, or leaking coil reduces capacity, raises operating cost, and in the case of a leak leads eventually to compressor damage as the charge is lost.

Replacement rather than repair is generally the correct decision when a coil has multiple leaks, corrosion damage, or formicary corrosion pitting, since patching one leak in a corroded coil commonly precedes the next leak in the same coil weeks later.
