The dual crown is the specification worth explaining. A crown is the band over the top of the headgear that carries the shield's pivot. A single crown carries the load at one point; a dual crown uses two, which distributes the shield's weight and — more usefully — keeps a wide window stable. The 380 Series windows are 19-1/2 inches across, and a wide shield on a single pivot flexes and wobbles. Two crowns hold it steady.

Uncoated is the other specification and it is a genuine choice rather than an omission. Anti-fog coatings are surface treatments: they work, and they are destroyed by abrasive cleaning.
