Great Neck GNS10379 GreatNeck 3 Inch x 1000 Ft. Caution Tape

The Great Neck GNS10379 is caution tape, 3 inch x 1000 ft, with black lettering on a high visibility yellow background.

Barricade tape is a communication tool rather than a barrier, and understanding that distinction is the whole point of using it correctly. The tape stops nobody — it is a few thousandths of an inch of polyethylene. What it does is mark a boundary and state a hazard, so that anyone approaching knows there is a reason not to proceed and can see that reason from a distance.

The black-on-yellow colour combination is not arbitrary. Yellow and black is among the highest-contrast pairings visible to the human eye and remains legible in poor light, in peripheral vision, and at distance — which is why it recurs across hazard marking of every kind. Yellow specifically is the conventional caution colour, distinct from the red used for danger.

The 1000 ft roll is the working quantity. Cordoning an area consumes tape at a rate that makes short rolls an irritation, and tape is a consumable — it is deployed, it gets weathered and torn, and it comes down with the hazard.

Applications include construction sites, maintenance work areas, spills and wet floors, temporary hazards, crowd and traffic control, and event management.

Users include contractors, facilities departments, safety officers, and municipal operations.
