Flange Wizard FLWL-2 Degree Level Magnetic

The Flange Wizard FLWL-2 is a magnetic degree level, pocket sized at 2-3/8 inches with a single vial reading in 2-1/2° increments.

The 2-1/2° graduation is the specification and it defines what this tool is for. An ordinary level tells you level or not level — one condition. A degree level reads angle, in increments, which is what pipe and structural work actually requires. Pipe runs to a fall. Bracing sits at an angle. Fittings turn to specified degrees. None of those questions can be answered by a plain vial.

The pocket size is the other half of the design and it is not a compromise. A fitter working up a rack or in a ditch carries what fits in a shirt pocket, and a tool left in the gang box has no accuracy at all. At 2-3/8 inches this goes where the work is.

The magnet holds it to the pipe or steel, freeing both hands — which on a round surface is essential rather than convenient, since there is nothing to rest a level against and no way to hold it steady while reading it.
