ECCO Flexible Duct 4X48 Flex Gas Vent Connector

The ECCO 200494 is a 4 inch diameter by 48 inch flexible gas vent connector for gas appliance venting.

A 48 inch connector accommodates installations where the appliance is set well away from the vent, or where structure between the draft hood and the vent connection requires a substantial lateral run.

Longer connectors demand more attention to installation, not less. Three requirements govern whether the installation performs. The connector must rise continuously toward the vent at the pitch required by code, which over four feet means a measurable and deliberate rise rather than an approximately horizontal run. It must be supported along its length so that it holds that pitch, since an unsupported flexible connector will sag and create a low point where condensate collects. And its length must be within what the vent sizing tables permit for the appliance input, vent height, and vent diameter.

Long lateral runs are a common cause of marginal draft. Where the appliance can be relocated closer to the vent, or the vent extended toward the appliance, that is generally the better solution than accepting a long connector.

Use only connectors listed for gas vent service. General purpose flexible duct will not withstand flue gas temperatures and is not acceptable.

Applications include residential and light commercial gas water heaters, furnaces, and boilers. Test for spillage at the draft hood after any vent work.
