ECCO Flexible Duct 4X24 Flex Gas Vent Connector

The ECCO 200492 is a 4 inch diameter by 24 inch flexible gas vent connector, used to connect an appliance draft hood to a Type B vent system.

A flexible vent connector serves a specific purpose in appliance venting: it accommodates offsets between the appliance outlet and the vent run without requiring a fabricated arrangement of elbows and straight sections. In a water heater installation where the vent is not directly above the draft hood, this is frequently the practical solution.

The material and construction must be listed for vent connector service, since the connector carries flue products at elevated temperature. General purpose flexible duct is not acceptable for this application under any circumstances.

Installation requirements apply strictly. The connector must rise continuously from the draft hood toward the vent with the pitch required by the code, typically a minimum upward slope per foot of run, so that flue products flow toward the vent and any condensate drains back to the appliance. It must be supported to maintain that pitch and must not sag, since a sag creates a low point where condensate collects and flue flow is obstructed. Total connector length and the number of offsets are limited by the vent sizing tables.

After installation, test for spillage at the draft hood with other exhaust appliances operating.
