DiversiTech Run Capacitor 440V 60 MF POCF60A

The DiversiTech POCF60A is a 60 microfarad, 440 volt oval run capacitor for single-phase compressor and motor applications in HVAC and refrigeration systems.

Run capacitor terminals are usually quick-connect spade tabs, and many capacitors provide multiple tabs per terminal so that more than one conductor can be landed without splicing. Where multiple tabs are present they are electrically common, and any of them may be used.

Connection quality at these terminals deserves attention. Spade connectors that have been removed and refitted repeatedly lose their spring tension and no longer grip firmly. A loose connection heats under load, and that heat both damages the capacitor and eventually degrades the wire insulation. When a capacitor is replaced, the female spade terminals on the wiring should be inspected and replaced if they slide on with no resistance.

Sixty microfarad is a compressor run value found on larger residential and light commercial condensing units.

Confirm capacitance, voltage rating, case size, and terminal configuration before ordering. Discharge the capacitor before handling, mount it securely with a correctly sized strap, and dress the wiring so that leads do not rest against the compressor discharge line or other hot surfaces.
