DiversiTech Run Capacitor 440V 35MFD POCF35A

The DiversiTech POCF35A is a 35 microfarad, 440 volt oval run capacitor for permanent split capacitor and capacitor start capacitor run motors in air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.

In a compressor circuit, the run capacitor supplies the phase shift that allows a single-phase motor to develop torque continuously. Its effect on running performance is measurable: a compressor operating with a run capacitor at correct value draws lower current and develops higher torque than the same compressor with a degraded capacitor, which is why capacitance should be verified during any diagnostic involving high compressor amp draw or hard starting.

Thirty five microfarad is a common compressor run value for residential split system condensing units in the two to three ton range.

Metallized polypropylene film construction gives the capacitor its self-healing property and its tolerance of continuous duty at elevated ambient temperature, which matters because run capacitors in condensing units operate in exactly those conditions.
