DiversiTech Fuse Lssu Series Box Cover

The DiversiTech LSSU is a box cover unit fuse from the LSSU series, supplied for use in fused box cover disconnect assemblies serving small motors, controls, and accessory equipment.

Box cover units combine a disconnect switch and fuse holders into a single device that mounts to a standard outlet or junction box cover. The result is a compact fused disconnecting means without the cost and space requirement of a separate safety switch enclosure. This arrangement is widely used for unit heaters, exhaust fans, small motors, fan coil units, and accessory loads in commercial and industrial buildings.

The fuse element within the assembly provides overcurrent protection sized to the connected load and its conductors, while the switch provides the local disconnecting means required for maintenance access. Series designations matter because fuses of similar size can differ substantially in interrupting rating and time-current characteristic, and an incorrect substitution may either fail to interrupt a fault safely or open under normal operating conditions.

Always de-energize and lock out the supply before opening a box cover unit, and verify the circuit is de-energized with a meter before handling the fuse holders or conductors.
