DiversiTech Fuse 5A 600VAC 300VDC KLDR-5A

The DiversiTech KLDR-5A is a 5 amp midget time delay fuse rated 600 volts AC and 300 volts DC, intended for control circuit protection in HVAC, refrigeration, and industrial control panels.

Midget fuses in the 13/32 by 1-1/2 inch body offer a compact footprint that fits the dense fuse blocks used in modern control panels while carrying a 600 VAC rating suitable for the full range of standard industrial voltages. The small physical size does not limit application voltage, which allows the same holder and fuse family to be used across control and power circuits within one panel.

The time delay characteristic is what makes this fuse appropriate for control work. Control transformers, contactor coils, solenoid valves, and small motors all draw substantially more current at the moment of energization than in steady state. A fast-acting 5 amp fuse would open repeatedly on these normal events. A time delay fuse rides through the brief inrush and opens only for sustained overload or short circuit, allowing the fuse to be sized close to the actual load for better protection.

The DC rating supports control schemes incorporating DC-powered electronics, instrumentation, sensors, and communicating controls.

Applications include control transformer protection, thermostat and control circuit branches, solenoid and valve circuits, instrumentation power, electronic control supply, and general small load protection in equipment panels.

Replacement fuses must match the original in class, dimensions, voltage rating, and interrupting rating. Midget fuses of different classes can share dimensions while differing in performance, so verify the full designation. De-energize and lock out the panel before replacing any fuse.
