DiversiTech Capacitor 70/7.5 MFD 440/3 TRCFD7075

The DiversiTech TRCFD7075 is a round dual run capacitor rated 70 plus 7.5 microfarad at 440 and 370 volts for large single-phase compressor and condenser fan motor duty.

A complete capacitor replacement runs in a fixed sequence. Isolate the equipment at the disconnect and confirm the absence of voltage. Discharge both sections through a resistor and verify with a meter. Photograph the wiring before disconnecting it. Remove the failed capacitor and note the measured value of each section for the service record.

Check the equipment data plate and both motor nameplates against the replacement's ratings. Inspect the female spade terminals on the wiring and replace any that have lost their grip. Mount the new capacitor in a correctly sized strap with the terminals clear of the cabinet, and land the leads on HERM, FAN, and C exactly as recorded.

Restore power, confirm the compressor and condenser fan both start promptly, and measure running current on each against nameplate. Record the readings.

The final measurement is what distinguishes a completed repair from a replaced part: it confirms both motors are drawing what they should on the new capacitance.

The 70 microfarad section serves the compressor and the 7.5 microfarad section the condenser fan motor.
