DiversiTech Capacitor 60/7.5 MFD 440/3 TRCFD6075

The DiversiTech TRCFD6075 is a round dual run capacitor rated 60 plus 7.5 microfarad at 440 and 370 volts for compressor and condenser fan motor duty.

Capacitance loss in a run capacitor is progressive rather than sudden, which raises a practical question during service: at what point is a measured value low enough to justify replacement.

The tolerance band, typically plus or minus six percent, defines the boundary of acceptable performance. A capacitor reading below that band should be replaced. A capacitor reading within the band but close to its lower edge is a judgement call, and the answer usually depends on context: the equipment's location and exposure, whether the customer holds a maintenance agreement, how close the visit is to the start of the cooling season, and how far the technician would have to travel to return.

On a hot-climate rooftop unit measured in early spring, replacing a marginal capacitor is almost always the right call. On a shaded residential unit measured in autumn, monitoring it at the next visit is reasonable.

The 60 microfarad section serves the compressor and the 7.5 microfarad section the condenser fan motor.
